RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals
RoHS3 Compliance
Johanson Dielectrics ensures that all standard parts* supplied after January 1, 2006, comply with the European Union Directives 2002/95/EC, 2011/65/EU, and Annex II (EU) 2015/863 regarding the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS Directives).
REACH Compliance
All Johanson Dielectrics components meet REACH requirements and do not contain any Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) above the levels mandated by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
Lead-Free Terminations
Our standard SMT component terminations (JDI termination code "V") feature 100% Matte Tin plating over a Nickel barrier, ensuring compatibility with lead-free soldering processes. These terminations withstand reflow temperatures up to 260°C for 5 seconds. For more details, refer to our Tin Whisker Testing Technical Note.
Tin-Lead (Sn-Pb) Terminations
To meet specialty application requirements, such as military and space industries, Johanson Dielectrics offers a limited selection of non-RoHS compliant products with Tin-Lead (Sn-Pb) Terminations (JDI termination codes "T" and "W").
Legacy RoHS Compliant P/N Suffix
Johanson previously used the "-****-RC" suffix to help customers differentiate RoHS-compliant inventory. This suffix is no longer required for surface-mount devices but remains available for legacy part numbers on AVLs and BOMs.
Conflict Minerals Reporting
In response to the worldwide determination to limit funding of human rights violations and environmental degradation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Johanson Technology (JTI) ensures that our products do not contain the “conflict minerals” of tungsten, tantalum, tin, and gold supplied by the DRC and their neighboring countries. JTI has verified through due diligence in standards, systems, and procedures that our suppliers’ smelters and refiners produce Conflict Free Minerals. In addition to requiring that our suppliers comply with applicable laws, we expect that they source materials from environmentally and socially responsible suppliers and be DRC Conflict-Free.
