Essential Functions

  • Duties will include pre-cleaning of parts, rack plating and barrel plating, observing and maintaining D.I. water tank, and nickel and gold plating tanks.
  • Use the XRF machine to check for thickness on nickel and gold, visual inspection of all plated parts, filter changes, and upkeep of plating equipment.
  • Visual inspection (50% of shift) including inspection of parts one by one under a microscope to remove defective parts that do not meet specified criteria.
  • Work area is to be kept clean and neat at all times. Housekeeping chores will be performed as assigned.
  • Cross training for other jobs is required so that employees can occasionally fill-in, in other departments, when required. Additional or different functions may be assigned to the employee periodically.
Supervisory Responsibility
Frequent verbal instruction and inspection of work or materials produced. Detailed written instructions or procedure manuals explaining established procedures

Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing/ production environment. This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers.

  • Required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, and bend.
  • Lifting of approximately 5 pounds.
  • Must understand and follow a set of clear oral and/or written procedures without deviation.
  • Must adhere to a provided work schedule to meet a set of qualitative production standards.
  • Performs simple tasks that vary little from day to day.
  • Implements others’ decisions/procedures with little judgement required.
  • Must relay simple information orally.
  • Interact with co-workers to complete tasks.
Position Type/Expected hours of work
This is a full-time non-exempt position. Forty or more (40+) hours within a workweek.

No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED, the ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Must have high school equivalent math skills.
